Manual Drop Screens Features

Custom Screen Services in Orange County

A manual drop screen is a horizontally mounted screen unit that lowers down for sun, wind, and/or privacy control. The screen is mounted across the top of the opening to be protected. A manual drop screen is installed with a left and right bracket system and is operated with a hand crank that turns counterclockwise to lower the screen and clockwise to raise the screen.

All manual drop screens come standard with a bracket mount system, hand crank, weight bar, and wire guide system. Manual drop screens do not include a housing cover, but one is available for an upcharge. The left and right wire guide system is intended to prevent the weight bar from swinging in the wind. They provide limited retention and don’t secure objects, animals, or persons inside or outside your dwelling. Manual drop screens can also be installed without a wire guide system depending on the application.

Manual Drop Screen Opening Sizes

Every single manual drop screen is custom built. Manual drop screens can be installed on any opening up to 20’ in width and 20’ in height.

Side tracks (upgraded feature)

Side tracks are available for manual drop screens. The optional side track system is intended to prevent the weight bar and mesh from swinging in the wind. They provide limited retention and don’t secure objects, animals, or persons inside or outside your dwelling. Side tracks will not make your manual drop screen bracket mount system bug-proof unless you upgrade your manual drop screen to include a housing and side tracks.

Motorization (no housing)
Somfy Motorization is available for manual drop screens, which turns it into a motorized drop screen.

Housing (manual operation)
A decorative housing is available for manual drop screens, which turns it into a manual sun screen.

Motorization (with a housing)
Somfy Motorization is available for manual sun screens, which turns it into a motorized sun screen.

The housing, weight bar, and side tracks are available in any custom powder coated Tiger Drylac RAL color.

Screen Mesh Options

A variety of mesh styles and color selections are available for our manual drop screens. They can block the sun without obstructing your view, or they can provide privacy. Mesh warranties can have a 5 or 10-year limited warranty on exterior applications depending on your mesh selection. The most commonly-ordered screen mesh options are below.
