What is a Manual Drop Screen?
A Manual Drop Screen is a horizontally mounted screen unit that lowers down for sun, wind, and/or privacy control with a hand crank. It can be mounted on the surface or inside the jamb of any exterior or interior opening. A Manual Drop Screen is not a bug-proof screen.
The screen is mounted across the top of the opening to be protected. A Manual Drop Screen is installed with a left and right bracket system and is operated with a hand crank that turns counterclockwise to lower the screen and clockwise to raise the screen.
All Manual Drop Screens come standard with a bracket mount system, hand crank, weight bar, and wire guide system. Manual Drop Screens do not include a housing cover. The left and right wire guide system are intended to prevent the weight bar from swinging in the wind. They provide limited retention and don’t secure objects, animals, or persons inside or outside your dwelling. Manual Drop Screens can also be installed without a wire guide system.
Where are Manual Drop Screens commonly installed?
Manual Drop Screens are commonly installed on doors, windows, patios, porches, balconies, and gazebos to create comfortable and/or private environments. The most common installation for a Manual Drop Screen is on an outdoor patio.
What size opening can a Manual Drop Screen accommodate?
Every Manual Drop Screen is custom built. Manual Drop Screens can be installed on any opening up to 20’ in width and 20’ in height.
What bracket colors are available?
Manual Drop Screens come standard with a bracket system.

What are the screen mesh options?
A variety of mesh styles and color selections are available for Manual Drop Screens. They can block the sun without obstructing your view, or they can provide privacy. Mesh warranties can have a 5 or 10-year limited warranty on exterior applications depending on your mesh selection.
What are the fabric options?
Manual Drop Screens are available with Sunbrella Fabric. Sunbrella color pigments are added during the production of fade-resistant Sunbrella fiber, which results in Sunbrella yarn and fabric with fade-resistant color throughout that won’t wash away.

What is a horizontal screen mesh seam or fabric seam?
A horizontal seam in the mesh or fabric is necessary when you reach a certain width or height for an opening in which a power screen is to be installed. The seam joins two pieces of screen mesh or fabric together to accommodate certain widths and heights. Whether or not a seam is required varies depending on the screen mesh and fabric. The horizontal seam location can be placed at the top or bottom of the power screen depending on the customer’s design.
Can I order my manual drop screen with a custom image on the screen mesh or fabric?
Yes. We can custom print on 1 or 2 sides of mesh or solid fabric. Certain restrictions do apply. Contact our office for details.
What housing, weight bar & side track colors are available? (upgrade feature)
The housing, weight bar, and side tracks are available in any custom powder coated Tiger Drylac RAL color for an additional charge.
What is a Somfy? (upgrade feature)
Somfy is the world’s leading manufacturer of specialized motors and control systems.
What are the Somfy Motor specifications? (upgrade feature)
The AC Motor Specifications are: 120VAC/60Hz, 2 to 3 Amps. FCC Approved and UL Listed. Home Automation Interface is available.
What are my Somfy Remote control options? (upgrade feature)
A one-channel wireless remote control (hand-held or wall switch) can operate one motorized screen. A multi-channel wireless remote control (hand-held or wall switch) can operate up to five separate motorized screens independently. A hard-wired version of the wireless wall switch is available as well upon request.
What is the lead time for Manual Drop Screens?
Manual Drop Screens come with a standard lead time of 3-4 weeks.
How do I clean my Manual Drop Screen?

Can I use a Manual Drop Screen as a security screen?
Manual Drop Screens are meant for privacy and sun or wind control only. They are NOT meant to keep intruders out or kids or pets inside or outside. Manual Drop Screens installed at your home are not meant to be used as security screens. In no way is Classic to be held liable for any harm done to you, your property, and/or your family for using them as such screens.
