Manual Drop Screens FAQ’s, What is a Manual Drop Screen?
A Manual Drop Screen is a horizontally mounted screen unit that lowers down for sun, wind and/or privacy control with a hand crank. They can be surface mounted or mounted inside the jamb of any exterior or interior opening. Manual Drop Screens are not bug proof screens.
The screen is mounted across the top of the opening to be protected. A Manual Drop Screen is installed with a left and right bracket system. The Manual Drop Screen is operated with a hand crank by turning counter clockwise to lower the screen and clockwise to raise the screen.
All Manual Drop Screens come standard with a bracket mount system, hand crank, fabric wrapped weight bar and wire guide system. Manual Drop Screens do not include a housing cover. The left and right wire guide system is intended to prevent the weight bar from swinging in the wind. They provide limited retention and no security of objects, animals or persons inside or outside your dwelling. Manual Drop Screens can be installed with or without a wire guide system.
